Hi,

I didnot receive my EAD yet, the online status says that Approval notice was mailed on Oct. 1st.

I would like to know if anyone is facing the same issue.

Can anyone let me know how should i proceed in this regard?

You can file I-485 only when your PD is current. There is no connection between filing for I-485 and I-140 approval.

Hi
My wife is on h1.Her staffing company did not have a project from july 1st.
I applied for her h4 cos on july 7th.
Her company had applied for h1 amendment for change of location in may.status shows pending.
My question- are we safe in applying for h4cos on the basis of old approved h1.does the outcome of amendment h1 even matter, since there is no project anyhow and the person has applied for h4.

I have a work related travel (2 days max) coming up in January. Do I need a canadian visa. I am on AP and my US visa on my passport has expired. My H1 is valid till 2009 (not stamped on the passport).
My question is Do I need a canadian visa? Let me know if anyone had a similar experience.

If you are from a country who is not exempt from a canadian visa (especially for work), you should definitely get one. your AP does not entitle to enter any other country other than the U.S.

Hi one of my relative has cleared the US citizenship exam. He is waiting for the oath. He want to visit canada after a month. Before the canada visit I think the oath will be done and he will become citizen of US. He can not get the US passport instantly.

My questions:

1. After becoming US Citizen can he visit canada without US passport? If yes what docs he needs to carry with hi?

If no then what to do ? asking because he want to visit canada and can not get passport withn 15 day.

You need to get a copy of 140, so you may have to tell your employer about your AC21 (actually no need if you have a copy of approved 140). Nothing to get scared of. But its good to leave in good terms.

Once you start using EAD your H1 will get cancelled anyway. So it wont make any difference if your old employer cancels it.

Folks,

Here's one question I have which I haven't see in any forums so far (perhaps its lurking somewhere .. who knows) ... let me get to the point.

When filing for AOS/485, if the I-140 that was filed prior to filing AOS was pending and gets approved AFTER 485 was filed... should we explicitly inform USCIS that that 140 was appoved ?

I guess USCIS should have that information (of course!) but I am not sure if we should be pro-active and make sure we inform the service center that the 140 was approved ?!

Folks,

My GC was applied with employer A in Nov-2005. 485 applied during July 2007 fiasco. Even though I have EAD/AP, I have always maintained H1B status.

Recently got H1B transferred to employer B and its approved for 3 years.
My H1B visa (from employer B) will expire this month.

Can I make a trip to India and re-enter using AP, and still maintain H1B status?

I dont want to go through the hassle of going for H1B visa stamping for 10th to 12th year.
