When I think fashionable jewelry, I think of Snooki. In fact, I am SO upset that I didn’t know about the pendant that Snooki crafted before the holidays because that would have been on my “friggin” gift list for SURE.

I guess I had to see it to believe it, but that really is Snooki!  Jersey Shore’s Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi didn’t let a little thing like being banned from Time Square ruin her New Year’s Eve Plans at all!

Here’s some shots of Snooki filming her New Year’s Eve ball drop at the Jersey Shore house in Seaside Heights! This looks like a pretty elaborate set up and lots of people are there! She really does look like she’s in a little hamster ball though!

Do you think that this whole fascination with Jersey Shore is going to continue into 2011? I mean even Pauly D is getting his own reality show now! I like the show, but not sure I need the cast members to be getting their own spin offs!

So who did you watch for the ball drop 2011: Snooki and the ‘Jersey Shore’ gang (after her ball drop wasn’t allowed) or the traditional ball drop in Times Square? If you were like (I suspect) a lot of people, you probably stuck with the traditional ball drop in Times Square ;) . Or maybe you weren’t even awake- LOL.

I’m pretty sure the drop was taped (the thumbnails below are from the taping that took place yesterday afternoon). Snooki, The Situation, and J-Woww posted the picture above of themselves saying they were ready to party right before midnight.

Well, ‘Jersey Shore’ spitfire Snooki hasn’t been completely banned from Times Square on New Year’s Eve. But her planned stunt has been forbidden, according to Pop Eater’s Rob Shuter.

“The Snooki ball drop isn’t going to happen in Times Square,” an insider tells me. “At midnight, the crowd and the media will be watching Mayor Bloomberg, Dick Clark and the official ball drop, not a cast member of the ‘Jersey Shore.’”

I wonder if it was Snooki spilling the beans on her plans that ruined it?

“No way would they allow this to take place. MTV rents a position in the Square that night like every other media outlet. You can’t get access to the Square without an official credential. You have to play by the official rules or you get kicked out, which is exactly what has happened to MTV and Snooki,” an insider tells me.

Who would you rather watch at the very beginning of 2011: the ‘Jersey Shore’ crew or the official ball drop (along with New York City Mayor Bloomberg and Dick Clark)?
