it means no worries :)
i’ve wanted this since i was sixteen and i’m glad i finally did it. the lion king was a huge part of my childhood; when i was three years old i got my first simba plushie and i still have him. i watched the movie every day (not much has changed to be honest, i still watch it weekly at least), and meerkats still make me squeal with the most amount of delight. the lion king has taught me a million things that i’ll carry with me forever, but the most important thing that the lion king has taught me is hakuna matata. no worries. you gotta put your past… behind you.

This is a tattoo I got last minute at Irelands tattoo convention 2009. I was walking around and one of the tattoo artists started talking to me and said he would give me something for free and we came up with this because I’m studying photography and loves roses.

It’s on my foot.

I had planned this tattoo for five years and was just waiting for the right time to get it. Turns out the right time was just some day. It is the root of energy in your body, but basically stands for survival, power, strength, lust, …you know, all the good things. I designed it myself to look like how I sign my name, and Mikey at Outer Limits made it perfect! It is exactly what I wanted and needed, and reminds me that at my core I am strong. I also really like that I chose it get it square on my hip, it gives me an opportunity to get another one on the other side- have to keep it symmetrical :)
